Detection of heavy metal by paper-based microfluidics.
Heavy metal pollution has shown great threat to the environment and public health worldwide. Current methods for the detection of heavy metals require expensive instrumentation and laborious operation, which can only be accomplished in centralized laboratories. Various microfluidic paper-based analytical devices have been developed recently as simple, cheap and disposable alternatives to conven...
متن کاملAn Electrochemical Sensor Based on Novel Ion Imprinted Polymeric Nanoparticles for Selective Detection of Lead Ions
In this study, the novel surface ion-imprinted polymer (IIP) particles were prepared and applied as a electrode modifier in stripping voltammetric detection of lead(II) ion. A carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with IIP nanoparticles and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was used for accumulation of toxic lead ions. Various factors that govern on electrochemical signals including carbon...
متن کاملModifier-Free Microfluidic Electrochemical Sensor for Heavy-Metal Detection
Heavy-metal pollution poses severe threat to ecological systems and presents a great challenge for global sustainability. Portable point-of-care sensing platform for detection/monitoring of heavy-metal pollution in the environment is urgently demanded. Herein, a highly sensitive, robust, and low-cost microfluidic electrochemical carbon-based sensor (μCS) for detection of trace heavy metals is p...
متن کاملNovel synthetic phytochelatin-based capacitive biosensor for heavy metal ion detection.
A novel capacitance biosensor based on synthetic phytochelatins for sensitive detection of heavy metals is described. Synthetic phytochelatin (Glu-Cys)(20)Gly (EC20) fused to the maltose binding domain protein was expressed in Escherichia coli and purified for construction of the biosensor. The new biosensor was able to detect Hg(2+), Cd(2+), Pb(2+), Cu(2+) and Zn(2+) ions in concentration rang...
متن کاملPhenylthiourea Modified Highly Ordered Nanoporous Silica for Heavy Metal Ion (Hg2+ ) Trapping
The phenylthiourea-substituted triethoxysilane as a silane agent was synthesized and grafted on highly ordered nanoporous silica (LUS- 1) with a textured morphology and hexagonal array. This material (Tu-LUS-1) contained 0.8 mmol/g of soft base phenylthiourea group and surface area 760 m2 g-1 and was able to adsorb 0.75 mmolHg/g of TU-LUS-1 in endothermic reaction.
